BECOMING A KINDREDLI CORPORATE ALLY
Using our privilege to inspire the next generation.
Corporate Allyship through Sponsorship
The biggest reason our Corporate Allies join Kindredli is to increase representation and create positive change in your workplace. While these initiatives are usually lead by HR, Kindredli gives that power to you. All Corporate Allies will have access to the Kindredli Student database, so you can see which students are graduating soon and looking for a job. Once you find a potential candidate, your role is to reach out, interview the candidate, and consider referring the candidate to your company. Some companies offer an incentive for referrals, please consider donating to Kindredli if so.
Our expectations for our Referral Program are to:
-
Review Kindredli Student Resumes.
-
Provide an Informational Interview and Mock Interviews for Students you'd be interested in referring.
-
If impressed, refer our students for roles in your company.
-
If your company offers financial incentives for referrals, consider donating a portion to Kindredli.
Corporate Allyship through
Mentorship
Some of our students are not looking for a full-time role as not all of them are rising Seniors. Instead, they're looking for industry mentors. If you are interested in being a mentor for one or multiple students interested in your industry, please consider becoming a mentor. In this role, you would dedicate 30 minutes to reach out to your mentees and facilitate a knowledgeable and valuable conversation. Unlike mentors in the workplace, a Kindredli mentorship removes the bounds of professionalism - so feel free to talk about racism in your industry, or sexism, or wage gaps. We promote this type of discussion as it's more real and honest and valuable for our students. If you designate that you would like to be a mentor on your application, a Kindredli staff member will try to pair you with a mentee.
Our expectations for our Mentors are to:
-
Take Kindredli's Mentor Training.
-
Once you're paired with a mentee, introduce yourself.
-
Schedule a 30-minute quarterly meeting with your mentee. This cadence can change depending on you and your mentee.
